The Vice President of Business Development for ADPs Added Value Services division (AVS) will be a senior member of the leadership team responsible for researching, identifying and leading the business development activities that support the business strategic growth objectives. This is a high profile position in a dynamic business, with the unique opportunity to work across the ADP organization and have significant measurable impact on the growth and profitability of a market-leading Fortune 500 company. The AVS division is one of ADPs fastest growing. Along with housing the payroll tax operations and compliance engine for all of ADP, AVS is considered by some to be a business incubator?the entrepreneurial test-ground for ADP, featuring those beyond payroll services that offer clients unique opportunities to stay in compliance and improve process efficiencies, while reducing taxes and other expenses.

The selected candidate will specifically be responsible for:

- Leads growth of ADP AVS through the identification of acquisition and partnership opportunities for ADP.

- Identify, explore and coordinate the development of new product extensions/bundles as well as new product opportunities in support of strategic imperatives. Recommend options for market entry considering all alternatives from build, alliance and acquire.

- Serves as Ambassador for ADP AVS in developing a network of relationships with key industry participants (e.g. relevant CEOs/Founders, industry consultants, VCs, etc.) in order to accelerate idea generation and actionable deal flow. Effectively communicates internally and externally the ADP strategic vision for growth.

- Demonstrates understanding of the companys competitive environment and what that implies for strategy development to compete and grow in the marketplace. Track key industry trends such as regulatory and competitive challenges, and develop plans and recommendations to mitigate and manage these emerging risks.

- Evaluates and makes decisions on new business ventures and development that can impact improvements to market segmentation, client retention, channel effectiveness and an integrated product portfolio. Performs special projects that represent the broad interests of AVS, where senior level representation is required from AVS Business Development.

- Develops business cases of major investments for recommendation to senior management and integrates potential partner firms/new business opportunities with ADPs internal strategies and resources. Evaluates financial position, strategy, markets, competitive products offerings and strength of operations.

- Researches, identifies and analyzes potential new business opportunities sourced from both internal and external resources from within ADP and selected markets.

- Manages and leads the internal business unit processes required to secure senior management approval and complete investment transactions. Coordinates with all appropriate corporate and external resources (e.g. Corporate Development, Legal, Finance, target firm principals, consultants, etc.) in an effort to complete transactions in a timely and effective manner.

- Leads and/or actively participates in discussions and negotiations with potential business partners, involving the principals and senior management from partner/target firms involved in potential commercial/strategic transactions.

- Ensures the successful incubation/integration of new business into existing operations from the start of the transaction process until new reporting arrangements have been finalized and working relationships established.

- Continues to stay abreast of the market, technology and competitive developments in selected industries and geographic locations.

Qualifications Required
(Experience, Skills, Academic):

Education: Bachelors Degree required. MBA preferred.

Experience: 10 years experience in analyzing new business opportunities with a proven proficiency in designing and performing quantitative research and developing business cases for major investments. Requires experience in new business development, alliances, and partnership with C level executives. Ideal candidate will have experience in leading change and creating a collaborative environment. Strong managerial finance/accounting understanding.
